The position is created to support the current Global Insurance Director, based in the UK.
The Global Insurance function’s role is to procure and maintain global insurance programs and oversee local insurance programs, with direct responsibility for UK and NL, to protect the Arcadis group against identified, insurable risks. The Global Insurance Manager is accountable for supporting the setup and maintenance of the Insurance function and programs, the operation of the captive cell insurance company, and reports to the Global Insurance Director as part of the wider Finance team.
The Global Insurance Manager will support the procurement and maintenance of global insurance programs and local policies where required as per the insurance policies and procedures. They will assist with the design, establishment, and maintenance of global insurance programs including professional indemnity, general/third party liability, cyber, directors & officers liability, crime, and travel at optimal terms and conditions. The manager will monitor changes in the business and insurance markets to ensure coverage is sufficient and amended appropriately. They are responsible for the operation and oversight of the captive cell insurance company.
The Global Insurance function collaborates closely with:
- The Global legal function and local legal counsels regarding insurance claims handling.
- The Global Risk Management function to ensure standardized risk management practices are embedded in business operations.
- The finance functions across the group concerning budgets, premium allocations, processing insurance invoices, and monitoring.
Additionally, there is collaboration with colleagues involved in project bidding, execution, Treasury, Accounting, and Tax.
The main accountabilities include:
- Supporting broker management on global insurance program renewals for optimal terms.
- Assisting with renewal data collection and proposal forms.
- Preparing premium allocations for global policies.
- Checking and monitoring invoices, including raising POs.
- Maintaining accurate policy records globally for management reporting.
- Managing UK and NL policies such as Motor, Car, Property, Art, and Personal Accident.
- Overseeing locally placed policies.
- Creating budgets with input from brokers and preparing summaries for CFOs.
- Responding promptly to insurance queries.
- Managing the insurance intranet resources.
- Monitoring claims with the fronting insurer and captive cell, including annual aggregates.
- Deputizing for the Global Insurance Director as needed and performing additional tasks.
Qualifications & Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in corporate insurance, as an Insurance Manager or broker.
- Knowledge of the corporate insurance market and its key players.
- Strong communication skills to maintain internal and external contacts.
- Excellent Excel skills, especially for premium allocations.
- A proactive, team-oriented approach.
- Flexible and service-minded attitude.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal; Dutch language skills are an advantage.
