This unit is responsible for delivering IT change. The delivery teams manage demand from business units, implement changes to applications, and hand over to support. Implementation is done in close cooperation with functional business owners per application and IT infrastructure (e.g., configuration and release management and database management). The department also ensures integration of IT systems, interfacing with internal and external sources.
About the jobThe IT Business Analyst II leads an agile delivery team to successful implementation of Project Delivery and Change Requests. The analyst manages the backlog, sets priorities and ensures quality. Together with the delivery team, features are broken down into user stories. The analyst works autonomously and closely with business teams/end users to implement features in alignment with business needs. This role is instrumental in delivering the change from technical design to live features in production (go‐live); it collaborates with business owners, end users, project managers, and the delivery team, with dotted line to IT BA senior for content implementation.
Main responsibilities
Feature Translation: Break down features into granular user stories with clear acceptance criteria, ensuring they follow INVEST criteria.
Requirement Gathering and Analysis: Facilitate handover from epics/features from project to own backlog, ensuring a thorough understanding of project needs.
Documentation and Communication: Ensure consistency and quality in documentation across the team and communicate regularly regarding roadmap and delivery.
Project Planning: Define roadmaps, set goals for delivery, and collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize changes/features.
Agile Development: Lead agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand‐ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives), ensure best practices, groom the product backlog, facilitate collaboration between stakeholders and technical teams, and adapt to changing needs.
Quality Assurance and Validation: Ensure delivery meets specified requirements and acceptance criteria, contributing to resolution of any issues or defects during testing.
Continuous Improvement: Identify process improvements, enhance Business Analysis practices, and stay updated with industry best practices and Agile trends.
Education, skills and experience
Vocational (equal to 'HBO‐level' in the Netherlands) or academic degree in Information Management, Information Technology, Business Administration or related field.
Ability to translate business needs into functional and non‐functional requirements.
Knowledge of and experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Strong capability in business process modelling, data modelling, and system architecture modelling.
Familiarity with UML, BPMN, and other industry‐standard modelling techniques.
Enterprise Architect (EA) proficiency and ability to create and maintain models.
Managing traceability between requirements and design, supporting architecture governance.
Technical understanding and solid grasp of IT systems, data flows, and integration points.
Ability to work closely with solution architects and developers.
Excellent facilitation skills for workshops and requirement sessions.
Ability to bridge the gap between business and technical teams.
Proficiency in requirements elicitation and documentation techniques.
Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, capable of analysing complex systems and proposing optimised solutions.
Preferred Extras
Experience with data warehouse or BI environments.
Familiarity with TOGAF or other architecture frameworks.
One of the following certifications (pre‐requisite): IIBA CBAP, IIBA CCBA, PMI‐PBA, TOGAF 9 or TOGAF Standard.
